Gogebic Range Robotics Wins Tourney Debut, Prepares For St. Louis Championship

The Gogebic Range Robotics team, comprised of students from Hurley and Bessemer School Districts, competed in their first ever Robotics tournament in Duluth, MN on March 1-4th.  The rookie team won the tournament, and are moving on to compete in the WORLD championships in St. Louis in April 2017.  If you would like to learn more about the Gogebic Range Robotics team, please read the following article, which was featured in the March 8th edition of the Ironwood Daily Globe.

Being from a small area, this team relies heavily on donations.  The registration fee alone is $5,000.  Other expenses include, hotel, travel, and meals.  The team consists of 25 students, mentors and coaches, so you could imagine that their expenses could add up quickly.  Please visit The Gogebic Range Robotics Fundraiser if you would like to make a donation.
Those interested in the program, or helping with fundraising can contact Iron County UW-Extension Youth Development Educator, Neil Klemme at 715-561-2695.
