The Iron County Horticulture Therapy Summit, March 1-3 2017
The Horticulture Therapy Summit hosted 5 presenters from around the state to offer a variety of presentations and workshops explaining the principles and practices of horticultural therapy appropriate for caregivers, social workers, volunteers, and many others. Participants will develop confidence when demonstrating gardening skills with a variety of differently-abled individuals and facilitating garden activities within various environments.
What is HORTICULTURE THERAPY? Horticulture therapy (HT) assists in learning new skills or regaining those that are lost. HT helps improve memory, cognitive abilities, task initiation, language skills and socialization (American HT Association).
